Captain Emma Swanson has earned four best Eagle afield titles from nine games after a commendable season leading from the front.

Swanson often carried the load in the midfield and worked tirelessly in the final three matches of the season with a fractured finger.

In the round 10 clash against the Kangaroos, Swanson stood out in the centre with 27 disposals and six clearances as well as three inside 50s and four intercepts.

Swanson’s influence in the Eagles’ engine room was incomparable in the Saturday afternoon match and her experience shone through as she took on the seasoned Kangaroos midfielders.

The skipper has had a standout season for West Coast, missing just one game due to suspension, and playing through pain in the latter half of the year.

Swanson has led the side admirably and finished the year with an average of 22.2 disposals, 4.7 tackles and 4.1 marks per match.
