West Coast midfielder Deven Robertson says he’ll be living out a childhood dream when he runs out in blue and gold for the first time tomorrow.

“I’m very excited,” Robertson said.

“I feel like I’ve dreamt about this for a long time as a kid being a massive Eagles supporter and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Robertson, known for his work rate and competitiveness, joined the Eagles through the 2025 Supplemental Selection Period after playing 47 games across five seasons with Brisbane.

The 24-year-old Northam product will be joined by four debutants in a fresh-looking Eagles line-up, a group he says has already made a significant impression on the club.

“It’s a seriously exciting time for the club,” Robertson said.

“The four draftees coming in have had a massive impact on the group so far. They bring a wealth of talent, but they’re also really diligent with their work ethic.

“They’re going to be some great players.”

Robertson also highlighted the impact of fellow recruit Tylar Young, who joined the club from Richmond during the trade period.

“’Youngy’ as well coming from the Tigers has brought a level head to the group. He’s been a great leader so far, good signs.”

The Eagles open their season on Sunday against a red‑hot Gold Coast side, a challenge Robertson knows well from previous encounters.

“It’s going to be a hard game, they’re a great team,” Robertson said.

“But we’ve worked super hard over the pre-season and we’re keen to go out and just give it our best shot. And that’s what we’ll do.”

Tomorrow also marks a significant milestone for teammate Jack Graham, who will run out for his 150th AFL game.

“I admire the way Jack goes about it,” Robertson said.

“He’s an extremely hard worker, very diligent, and he’s a great role model for the young list we have. So it’s super exciting for him.”
