The WAFL Eagles’ winning run came to a halt on Saturday, falling to East Perth 9.11 (65) to 16.12 (108).
Senior coach Kyal Horsley said the performance fell short of the standard the Eagles had set in recent weeks, with the intensity not there across the opening three quarters.
“To East Perth’s credit, they outplayed us and didn’t allow us to get into the game,” Horsley said.
“To our players’ credit, they challenged each other to finish the game the right way, live our identity, and set up the week ahead, which they delivered on with a strong fourth quarter.”
