The West Coast Eagles have secured talented midfielder Elijah Hewett on a four-year contract extension until the end of 2030.

A key part of the Eagles’ emerging core group, Hewett has shown his exciting potential across 40 AFL games since being drafted with pick 14 in 2022.

"I’m absolutely stoked to re-sign," Hewett said.

"This club means a lot to me as a West Coast boy.

"It’s been a challenging year, but I feel I’m a part of something bigger, which is the convincing factor.

"I love putting on the blue and gold and I’m keen to put my head down and get back to work."

After an injury-interrupted pre-season, Hewett has split his 12 games across the AFL and WAFL Eagles teams this year as he continues to develop his game.

West Coast Eagles Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke said Hewett's extension reflected the club's confidence in his character, work ethic and long-term potential.

"We are pleased to announce a four-year contract extension for Elijah Hewett, securing his future with the club until 2030," Clarke said.

"Elijah has just turned 22, and we see him as an integral part of our future as we continue the rejuvenation of our playing list.

"The extension aligns with the club's plans to build a strong and sustainable foundation for long-term success.

"Elijah has faced some challenges throughout 2026, however he has worked diligently with our football staff and remains committed to becoming the best player he can be.

"He is an exciting young talent with significant potential, and we are looking forward to seeing his continued growth and development in the years ahead."

Hewett’s re-signing follows recent extensions for Archer Reid (2030), Reuben Ginbey (2030), Milan Murdock (2028) and Ryan Maric (2028).
