For Round 21, we’re proud to celebrate Kat, a passionate Eagles member whose dedication to the blue and gold has brought her countless friendships, unforgettable memories and a lifelong connection to the club.
More than football
For Kat, being a West Coast Eagles member is about much more than what happens on the field.
"It means doing whatever I can to get to as many games as possible," she says.
"I also love all the different people I've met going to Eagles games and functions over the years."
Whether it's travelling for matches, attending club events or catching up with fellow fans on game day, Kat has built lasting friendships through her love of the Eagles and the wider club community.
Reliving a Premiership moment
If Kat could relive one moment in West Coast Eagles history, she'd choose one of the greatest days in club history.
"I would love to have actually got into the MCG for the 2018 Grand Final," she says.
Despite missing out on a ticket, Kat still made the trip from Brisbane and soaked up the atmosphere from a marquee outside the ground as the Eagles claimed their famous premiership victory.
She'd also love the chance to travel back to another historic triumph.
"I also would have loved to have gone to the 1994 Grand Final."
Game-day starts early
Like many passionate members, Kat's game-day routine begins well before the opening bounce.
"Get decked out in blue and gold, then walk down to the ground early to catch the guys warming up and chat with my fellow eagle-fanatics!"
For Kat, arriving early is all part of the experience. It's a chance to soak up the atmosphere, watch the players prepare and catch up with the community of passionate supporters who make every match day special.
Appreciating relentless effort
Asked which current player excites her most, Kat points straight to defender Reuben Ginbey.
"Never gives up, always goes beast mode... the back line's the best line!!"
She also loves the intensity Milan Murdock brings to the contest.
"Also love watching Milan's tackling."
It's that relentless effort and determination that resonates most with Kat as a supporter.
A message to the team
If Kat had the opportunity to address the team just before they ran out onto the field, she'd leave them with a quote from the legendary Babe Ruth:
"It's hard to beat a person that never gives up."
And as for this week's result?
"Today's the day, I can feel it!"
Through her unwavering support, game-day passion and connection to the Eagles community, Kat embodies what it means to be All the Way West. Members like Kat remind us that wherever the team plays, the strength of the club comes from the people proudly wearing blue and gold beside them.
