Graphic Designer

The Club has a full time employment opportunity for an entry level Graphic Designer to join our Communications Team. This position plays an important role in designing, developing and executing high quality, brand aligned design for print and digital across all departments of the club. Key projects will include (but certainly not limited to) print brochures, presentation documents, forms, print and online advertising, marketing/sales collateral, signage and retail merchandise design, events, membership, and club website design.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Strategy and Content, the main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop digital and print design work across the following areas: football, brand, community, sponsor campaigns, events, membership, team store and corporate.
  • Detailed focus on design amendments and revisions.
  • Preparing artwork for print.
  • Ensure creative is delivered in line with budgets, timeframes and project constraints.
  • Work closely with the team to develop concepts and produce finished artwork for key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand and interpret briefs, delivering content that is high quality and aligned to West Coast Eagles’s brand guidelines.
  • Manage internal library of design resources.
  • Work with sponsors logos and other promotional mandatories to create aesthetically pleasing artwork.
  • Be familiar with working and upholding brand guidelines for a big brand.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years work experience in a an agency or as a designer within a business
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Motion graphic skills including use of After Effects, highly regarded
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS preferred but not necessary
  • Familiar with Content Management Systems & Email Marketing Platforms
  • Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into actionable design concepts for print, digital and other online media
  • A strong understanding of digital production/design/printing techniques
  • A strong portfolio of creative work across digital and print
  • Tertiary qualification in graphic design, or related field, is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on a multiple projects within specific timeframes

There is a requirement for all full time staff to assist on match days and other events as required by the club, which includes weekends. The remuneration and benefits provided factor in this requirement.

Videographer

The club has a full time employment opportunity for an entry level Videographer to join our Communications team. This position plays a pivotal role in assisting the team with filming, editing and production of online video content along with other digital projects.

Reporting to the Head of Production, the main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Filming and editing content for all West Coast Eagles digital platforms.
  • Assisting with the management of the digital editorial of all online video and content.
  • Working closely with other departments to provide production and digital editing.
  • Generating content that promotes the club’s community programs.
  • Assisting in the production of content from matches involving the club’s WAFL and AFLW teams.
  • Ensuring the department’s video cataloguing/labelling system is kept up to date throughout the season.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in the use of video editing software
  • A comprehensive understanding of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in video camera operation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment across multiple departments
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance in supporting systems
