The West Coast Eagles are set for an exciting pre-season return to Optus Stadium when the club hosts Fremantle as part of the AAMI Community Series on Sunday, March 7.

The 4.10pm (AWST) bouncedown at WA’s home of football has been scheduled instead of West Coast’s original fixture against Port Adelaide at Leederville Oval.

Ticketing arrangements for the 2021 AAMI Community Series will be advised in due course.

The Optus Stadium clash will be the second time in eight days the Eagles face-off against their crosstown rival in a pre-season RAC Derby after this Saturday’s scratch match at Mineral Resources Park – which will be closed to fans but livestreamed at westcoasteagles.com.au from 10am.

The AFL revised its AAMI Community Series fixture to minimise risks around state border restrictions by avoiding travel prior to the home and away season.

“The changes to the fixture are consistent with the league’s approach to best managing the risks around COVID by minimising travel for teams where possible across both the men’s and women’s programs,” AFL Executive General Manager of Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said.

All 2021 AAMI Community Series matches will be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY, Kayo and through the Official AFL LIVE App, thanks to Telstra.
