Small forward Zac Langdon will make his West Coast debut against Gold Coast in round one after overcoming concussion.

Meanwhile, stars Josh Kennedy and Tim Kelly have been confirmed to play their first games for 2021 at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Langdon was the first player to swap clubs in last year’s Trade Period and the former Greater Western Sydney goalsneak will mark his first regular season game in blue and gold in front of a home crowd.

The 25-year-old from Dampier, who has 23 goals from 31 career games, was concussed in the AAMI Community Series win over Fremantle on March 7 but has recovered well to take his place.

Champion forward Kennedy (calf) and damaging midfielder Kelly (thumb) sat out both practice matches but will be cherry-ripe for the Suns clash.

The Eagles have also decided to play two genuine ruckmen against Gold Coast’s 209cm giant Jarrod Witts, with Nathan Vardy named on the interchange bench to support reigning best and fairest Nic Naitanui.

Promising duo Josh Rotham and Jack Petruccelle have been named on the bench alongside Vardy and Langdon.

The midfield battle looms as a key to the contest, and young Eagles onballer Xavier O’Neill will feature in the engine room and up forward for his sixth game, while skipper Luke Shuey (hamstring) and Elliot Yeo (groin) remain sidelined.

Versatile tall Jarrod Brander, recruit Alex Witherden, small forward Jamaine Jones and Brendon Ah Chee are the emergencies.

The Eagles will confirm which emergency will be their medical sub 60 minutes before tomorrow's 3.10pm bouncedown.
