Subiaco product Charlie Thomas has developed into one of the League’s brightest young stars, entering her fifth season of AFLW following her selection in the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft. After an outstanding 2023 season, Thomas was crowned Club Champion and made history as the first AFLW Eagle to be selected into the All-Australian team. Thomas finished in the top five in the League for rebound 50s, with her pace and determination in the back half leading to multiple game-changing moments. The 20-year-old showed skill, maturity and footy smarts well beyond her years, making a name for herself as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in the competition. After an outstanding 2024 campaign that saw her finish runner-up in the Club Champion count, Thomas was recognised for her leadership and consistency by being named as co-vice-captain alongside Bella Lewis. Thomas’ leadership continues to develop, offering guidance and mentorship for fellow young defenders coming through the ranks.
