Senior Coach
The West Coast Eagles completed one of the biggest recruiting coups of their history by appointing Melbourne great Daisy Pearce as the Club's fourth AFLW senior coach ahead of the 2024 season
Arguably the most influential and respected figure in the women’s game, the Eagles successfully lured Pearce west to take over the coaching reins, in what was momentous milestone in the evolution of the club’s women’s program.
The 2022 Melbourne premiership captain, three-time all-Australian and three-time Melbourne fairest and best who was also four times voted the AFLPA AFLW best captain, stands as arguably the most revered figure in the women’s game. She was also a 10 times VWFL/VFLW premiership player.
As a player, Pearce played in multiple positions and was known for her high football intelligence and leadership which has been demonstrated with her insights on the game across various media roles in recent years. Following her retirement as a player, Pearce was part of the coaching structure within the Geelong men’s program as a development coach.
In recognition of her remarkable contribution to the game, Pearce was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2025. A fitting honour for a trailblazer whose impact continues to shape the future of women's football.
Pearce’s first season at the helm was full of excitement and promise, with the team producing their most successful campaign to date, finishing with four wins.
