Tall forward Ella Roberts was one of the most anticipated youngsters to come out of the 2022 draft. As expected, Roberts burst onto the scene in season seven of AFLW playing all 10 games of the season elevating her as a front-runner for the AFLW Rising Star award after she was nominated in round six. Only 17 years old, she averaged 13.4 disposals, 3.5 marks and 2.9 tackles in her debut year also claiming a Mark of the Year nomination for a round nine speccy against the Bulldogs. Prior to her time in the AFLW Roberts has a Most Valuable Player award to her name in her bottom-age under-18s carnival, the crafty teenager has a ability to play the game is very natural having played since Auskick. Being thrown around a bit in her first year, Roberts found her calling at up forward but has also shown an ability to make an impact in the midfield when call upon.
