Assistant Coach - Midfield

Sam Radford joined the Eagles’ coaching panel ahead of the 2026 season after building a diverse coaching résumé across the VFL, AFLW and AFL programs at Melbourne.

A former Sandringham VFL player, Radford coached successfully at local level before progressing into VFL coaching, later taking on the caretaker senior coaching role at Casey VFL in 2019. He remained connected to the Demons through roles in opposition strategy and education before moving into their AFL program in 2025 to help lead the midfield group.

Known for his strong teaching background, game understanding and ability to develop players, Radford reunites with senior coach Andrew McQualter as he begins his new chapter with West Coast.
